Submission Instructions
1) Find and read letters written by and to Wisconsin veterans, their families and friends during World War II, or interview someone who was alive during the war. Feel free to use letters and materials you might have access to on your own; remember that you must have permission from the owners of any documents you choose to use. You’ll need to have them sign a release and submit it with your project submission form.

2) Select a letter or interview candidate for which you would like to develop a project, and decide what you’d like your project to “say”.

3) Choose a media format such as iMovie, PhotoStory3, PowerPoint, etc.
Accepted formats are: MP3, WAV, AIFF, MOV, PPT, or WMV.

4) Now get creative! Use the links provided on the Wisconsin War Letters site to find resources to enhance your story. Just don’t use any copyrighted material (that’s illegal), or take credit for something that isn’t yours (that’s not fair). Use the citations form to keep track of resources you use; we can’t post your work without this form.

5) Download and print the submission form. Include your project title and a purpose, the signature of the supervising teacher or parent verifying your work, and your own signature (or a parent’s or guardian’s if you’re under 18).

6) Upload your project to our drop box. Please follow the instructions listed on the upload form. The citations form may be emailed using the drop box, or mailed with your submission documents.

7) All forms requiring signatures must be mailed to us. These include your project submission form and any release forms for privately owned materials that you used.

Mail these documents to:
Educational Communications Board
Attn: Wisconsin War Letters 4-E
3319 W. Beltline Highway

*Once we’ve received all required documentation, give us 10 business days to get your project posted. Someone from ECB will contact you if we have questions regarding copyrights, or if we feel your project might not be appropriate for the website. We hope this project will help you see World War II (or any war, for that matter) through new eyes. You’ll get a chance to play with technology and maybe learn some new skills. In any case, we hope you’ll find this project both interesting and fun.
