
The Educational Communications Board (ECB) is a
state agency committed to ensuring that public radio
and television programs and services are made available throughout Wisconsin, and that these programs and services reflect and respond to the educational and cultural needs of the state's residents.
This is accomplished through the activities of the ECB and through collaboration with entities involved in educational and cultural initiatives whose purposes can best be served through telecommunication.
The ECB plans, develops, constructs and operates statewide public radio, public television, and educational telecommunication systems. Wisconsin Public Radio and Wisconsin Public Television are services of the ECB and the University of Wisconsin-Extension.
The agency also has the cooperative relationships with public television stations WDSE-TV/Duluth-Superior and Milwaukee Public Television, as well as with UW campus radio stations. In addition, the ECB assists others in the public sector to meet their needs through the use oftelecommunications.
The ECB also develops educational resources such as interactive Web sites, computer software, DVD's and CD-ROMs.
In addition, the ECB is responsible for maintaining NOAA All-Hazards Radio in Wisconsin and the state's
Amber Alert network.
ECB uses social media to increase awareness of our services and further our agancy's educational mission.
