U.S. Gazetteer
From the U.S. Census Bureau, just type in a city and state and the gazetteer will generate a map. You then can zoom in or out, or add labels to the map (such as cities, street names, bodies of water, reservations, railroad tracks) to suit your purpose.

Color Landform Atlas of the United States
State topographical maps from Johns Hopkins University. Nice, detailed maps, but they take a long time to download. To use these maps in a project, obtain permission from Ray Sterner by e-mail.

MapQuest! Interactive Atlas
This site will give you a map of any area in the United States if you type in the address. It also will show you a route to get from one place to another. Commercial site, contains advertising.

STATISTICS
U.S. Census Bureau
A good source for current information and figures. Includes a U.S. and world population clock, data on the economy, and much more. By going directly to State & County QuickFacts, you can click on a map to get population, business, and geographic statistics by county for any state.
Wisconsin Demographic Services Center
Population information from the Wisconsin Department of Administration. Includes population estimates through 2030 by county and municipality. Select "Population & Housing Estimates" or "Population & Housing Projections: 2000-2030" from the drop-down menu.
Wisconsin Population Estimates
Estimates are provided for each county by the state Department of Health and Family Services.
Its Vital Statistics page also provides basic information about such topics as births, deaths, life expectancy, and rates of marriage and divorce.

Wisconsin Agricultural Statistics Service
Information on Wisconsin agriculture from the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service.
You can go directly to the reports, such as annual milk production, production of various crops, livestock, and so on.
Census of Agriculture

Lower East Side Tenement Museum
