The Video Series


Exploring Wisconsin Our Home
, a 14-program instructional television series produced by the Wisconsin Educational Communications Board, is designed to enhance the study of Wisconsin in the K-4 social studies sequence.

Exploring Wisconsin Our Home
studies the natural and human resources of our state, focusing on the five geographic themes of location, place, movement, human-environment interactions, and region. Its 15-minute programs are broadcast statewide during the school year on Wisconsin Public Television.

A comprehensive teacher guide(#20247, $15) complements the video series.
This 218-page publication includes program synopses, focus questions, vocabulary words, references, classroom resources, field trip ideas, and extensive pre-viewing and post-viewing activities for each program. Its appendixes contain reproducible student materials, maps, a glossary, and additional resources. Wisconsin educators can purchase the guide using the

Taping Rights
If the broadcast times do not fit your teaching schedule, Exploring Wisconsin Our Home may
be taped by schools and school districts. Its taping rights are extended-use for educational use, so recordings of its programs may be retained in perpetuity and viewed
at any time.
