The multi-talented Leonardo da Vinci was a great artist, scientist, inventor, courtier,
and athlete. A man of restless and prodigious intellect and sensitivity, he represents
both the optimism and the pessimism of the Renaissance. The ambiguities and
mysteries of his life and art seem to make him a perfect pre-figuration of the modern
man, as his era was of the modern age. Programs feature stunning re-creations of
the Renaissance from Renato Castellani's classic film, "The Life of Leonardo da Vinci."
