Storylordsis an award-winning instructional media package for young readers in grades
2 through 4. Produced by the Wisconsin Educational Communications Board (ECB), it includes 12, 15-minute, closed-caption video programs (see broadcast times); a CD-ROM of interactive student activities (see System Requirements, below); and two teacher guides, one for the video series and one for the CD-ROM, which assist educators to make the best use of both resources.
The central theme of the Storylords videos is to save the fantasy planet Mojuste from falling into the hands of the evil Thorzuul, who wants to keep Mojuste's citizens from understanding what they read. Time and again, Thorzuul is thwarted by children who apply various reading comprehension strategies to the riddles and questions he poses. In Wisconsin, Storylords videos air on your local public television station during the school year.
A PDF of the videos' companion teacher guide is available for free.
The activities on the Storylords CD-ROM enable young readers to apply the reading comprehension strategies themselves. These activities also may be used for stand-alone lessons.

Wisconsin residents wishing to order the Storylords CD-ROM and its companion guide can download a PDF of the ECB's order form. Outside Wisconsin, please order from AIT.
