Crew and Cargo: Module 2, Section
4
| 1. | Pretend you
are the ship secretary. Write an entry for the ship's log
for one day during loading of the boat. Include
descriptions of at least five things that were loaded
that day, and tell why you decided to bring them along. |
| 2. | After you
finish loading the ship, record what you loaded onto a
chart. Then use the information in the "Help"
section to figure out how much each item weighed. Your
chart could look something like this: |
| Item | Number of items loaded | Weight per item | Total weight for this item |
| Wood | |||
| Supplies | |||
| Extension: Take the list of items you loaded on your ship, and compare it to the actual list of items taken on the voyage by Columbus. (Hint: this information can be found on the World Wide Web.) |
