Sample Video Projects

Project Sample #1 > Field Days (Flash Video format) - This letter told a complete story of a soldier who went to battle, was wounded, recovered, and was spending some time in England away from the war. I wanted to show the different aspects of life for that soldier. His descriptions were vivid and allowed me to easily find images that matched the storyline.

Project Sample #2 > Prisoner of War
(Flash Video format) - There were two letters involved in the creation of this movie. The first was a touching letter home from Lt. Paul Fergot to his wife, detailing his injury from jumping out of a plane and stating that he only had 43 missions left. The second was a telegram from Germany a few months later that came from a POW camp, signed by Lt. Fergot. This projects tells the story of what may have happened in-between and what may have come after, as there was no further information regarding the eventual fate of Lt. Fergot.

War Project LogoProject Sample #3 > The War Project (WAV audio format) - The War Project first took shape in April of this year, when Wisconsin Public Radio and the Educational Communications Board issued a statewide call to high school speech, theater and media departments. The two  broadcast services were collaborating on a special program coinciding with director Ken Burns' highly anticipated World War II documentary The War, airing on public television. They were looking for promising young journalists to interview people personally affected by that conflict with the goal of presenting their work in multiple media formats.
