The Library of Congress
This site houses an expansive array of historical information, including primary documents, photographs, and films.

BadgerLink provides access to information resources for Wisconsin residents. Wisconsin schools may access the EBSCO and UMI full text databases via this site.

WISCAT (Wisconsin Reference and Loan Library)
WISCAT is the statewide bibliographic database for Wisconsin. It contains 5.9 million bibliographic records from 1,137 libraries throughout Wisconsin. You may borrow items listed in WISCAT through interlibrary loan by making a printout of the record from this database and taking it to your local school, academic, or public library.

University of Wisconsin-Madison Electronic Library
This site provides access to the UW-Madison Library catalog, plus links to other UW System libraries, Wisconsin public libraries, and other libraries worldwide.

Pioneering the Upper Midwest
This is a collection of digitized books from the Library of Congress. The books can be read page by page, or you may search for text. The books include historical narratives and photographs on education, pioneer families, and recreation in early Wisconsin.

The Milwaukee Urban Archives
This site includes several electronic exhibits, as well as a guide to the collections available from the Archives, which is a repository for researching the history of Milwaukee-area businesses, civil rights, environmental campaigns, ethnic groups, families, housing, labor, urban development, women, and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

This bibliography was prepared by the Wisconsin Historical Society for the "Weaving a Wisconsin Tapestry" project. Appropriate for elementary students.

Connecting to the Classroom
This portal site is a one-stop resource to connect elementary and secondary teachers with relevant and useful educational materials on the Wisconsin Historical Society’s Web site. Its resources include images, documents, publications, lesson plans, activities, primary source materials, and more. It is organized by the topics that are specified in the Wisconsin Model Academic Standards for American History and Wisconsin History.

From the Wisconsin Library Association, this site identifies authors with ties to Wisconsin. It links to
a chronological and an alphabetical list of award winning and notable Wisconsin authors.

Wisconsin Bibliographies
Bibliographies of print materials and multimedia about Wisconsin's past and present is has been compiled by the Polk Library's Educational Media Collection (EMC) at UW-Oshkosh. The media list includes Web sites, videos, music, posters, maps, and educational software. The book list includes nonfiction works organized by category, young adult fiction, textbooks, reference materials, and magazines.
